Trade with Bryan of Golden Rainbow Cards

I've been pretty busy lately and haven't had too much time to spend on my hobbies but I was able to complete a quick trade with Bryan of Golden Rainbow Cards.  He's working on collecting the entire Braves "rainbow" for 2013 Topps among other things.  He saw a few cards he needed from my trade list and sent these in return:
A Frank Robinson shiny insert from series 1
A Luis Ayala that my scanner didn't scan correctly.  I'm leaning toward user error though.  Also, Note to Buck Showalter:  Please do not allow Luis to enter the game with runners on base!
Last but certainly not least, this slick manu-patch of Cal!  While I'm not the biggest fan of manufactured "relics" I do appreciate a new card of Cal that will have a permanent home in my collection.

Thanks a bunch for the trade Bryan.  Good luck on your project!

Trade with Brian of 30 Year Old Cardboard

I haven't had a bunch of trades coming in like I normally do but the ones I have had were pretty epic.  This particular trade comes from Brian over at 30-year-old Cardboard.  We exchanged several emails and a trade was born.  I was able to help him out with several cards he needed and I was able to rake in a few nice Oriole HOFers.  Behold:
I will assume that Brian grabbed this card on the cheap at the monthly card show he attends.  I love the look of high end cards (usually) but have only once ever spent more than 5 dollars for a single pack of cards.  Tier One is not a set I indulged in but now I don't have to since I have this Brooks Robinson.  The "cloud" that he's hovering in reminds me of a Looney Tunes daydream or thought bubble.
From modern to vintage!  Another nice Brooks card for the PC Binder!  Can't beat the condition on this card either!

Brian didn't send me all Brooks cards but it is another Robinson.  This Frank goes into my PC binder of him since I already had it for my team set.

Thanks Brian for the awesome cards!

Trade with Matt of DocHoloday.com

Here's another one of my Tradebait closeout trades.  This one is from Matt at DocHoloday.com.  We've traded a few times in the past and he's a participant in my group breaks too.  I sent him some Red Sox cards and he sent me several nice cards in return.
I already had the regular version of this Mike Wright autograph from this years Bowman Platinum but I decided to go ahead and trade for the green refractor version too.  Can't have too many on-card autographs!
I might have said before that there aren't many cards featuring Reggie Jackson as an Oriole.  I was pretty surprised to see Topps make a 1987 Mini of him since 99.9 percent of the world doesn't even  know he wore the orange and black for a season.  This card goes straight into my team set binder for 2012.
I just recently added Frank Robinson as a personal collection focus.  After he nearly wrecked my National Experience a few years ago and hearing horror stories from other people, it was hard to do.  I had so many cards of Frank sitting in my Orioles doubles box that I decided to put them in a binder so they wouldn't get mixed up.  This Green paper parallel from 2011 Gypsy Queen will sit nicely in the binder along side the base version.

Thanks as always goes out to Matt for the trade!

Trade with Dennis of Too Many Verlanders

A couple weeks back Dennis from the fantastically named Too Many Verlanders blog offered up some cards that he was trying to rid himself of for little or no return.  I was able to send him some cards from his wantlists and he sent me a nice pile of Bowman Chromes for my sets (which I still need plenty people, help a brother out!)  and a few Orioles cards, most of which I needed for my projects.
Here's Slamming Sammy in Yankee stadium probably flying out.  He sucked so bad towards the end of the season, that he packed his bags and left the team early without permission.
There were a bunch of Adam Loewen cards in the package that I was able to fill several holes in my team sets. I find this to be a sort of ironic card since Loewen is definitely not a "Team Hero".  He totally pooped all over the gentleman's agreement he had with the Orioles when he decided to become a hitter.  Instead of resigning a minor league deal like he was supposed to do, he instead flew home to Canada straigh into the Blue Jays nest.
These 2 cards finish off team set for 2003 Leaf. Exciting for me, but probably not so much for you.
2008 Baseball Heroes was filled with colored parallels and the charcoal parallels are just one of the many.  I might actually have the team set of these charcoals as well as a few other of the colored varieties.  I'll check and get back to you, or not.  We'll see!

Thanks Dennis for the help on my Orioles Binders and on my Bowman Chrome sets.

Trade with Beardy from The Mojo Beard

A short while back Beardy posted a box break of 2007 UD Masterpieces. One of his featured hits was this Cal Ripken Captured on Canvas GU jersey card. Since he already had one, he made it available for trade. I quickly sent an email, and before I knew it we were talking trade! I sent him a pretty good size stack of some of my extra Orioles inserts, parallels and refractors and in return I got the Ripken GU:
A shiny new Markakis Blue Refractor I didn't have:
And a GU bat card of a Hall of Famer:
I wish that my collection was as vast as his to have doubles like this laying around! Thanks for the great cards Mr. Beardman!
